Below are a few of the wonderful comments from our guest book

This film is so real! You've got to see it! If you've ever believed or struggled with believing, you'll find this film refreshing. It's entertaining and often amusing but not the way other films are. It's funny because you can see yourself in it. It makes you laugh and maybe even cry because it's so honest. The context is a father and son's pilgrimage to the town of Medjugorje in Croatia where Mary, the Mother of Jesus, has been appearing and giving messages for 30 years, but the real story in this film is not what happens on the outside (apparitions, miracles, etc.) but on the inside, in the heart. It's not a pious film, but it⿿s not irreverent either. It's just real. It will appeal not just to Catholics, and not even just to believers, but to anyone. It challenges anyone who has a heart closed to faith or a heart which judges others to be open, to listen, to pray, to love, to be real.

I would highly recommend the movie "The Sojourners". It's more than just a religious based movie, but a movie of adventure, growth and realization on a very human level. No matter what faith you are, this movie will touch you in some way. The direction in this movie is what I would call "Cinema Verite". It captures the truth of an experience at the very soul of who we are as human beings. It does help to decide to see this movie with an open mind in order to discover the amazing experiences that human life can bring.

I very much enjoyed the film, and agree that it has a "real" feel to it - not a proselytizing work and not a documentary - more of a story of a journey of discovery. Your and your son's reactions throughout the experience were very genuine, and I think audiences will appreciate that. Pilgrimages are very much about discovery (and conversion for some) through an experience of place, time, and community. It's why pilgrimage exists in major religious traditions, and certainly in our own Catholic tradition. I think The Sojourners film conveys that without having to explain it. Hopefully people can identify with the "average Catholic‟ as you portray yourself, or the deeply questioning person like your son -and watch to see what happens.

LOVED THE FILM! Particularly because it shows the "Spiritual Diversity" of people who are being called to Medjugorje. Participants in the group ranged from the uber-exuberant to the non-practicing Catholics, and they all came away with something special. No matter where you are spiritually, you will not come back from Medjugorje the same person if you go with an open mind and an open heart! Awesome!

I visited Medjugorje in 1985 and took my 4 teenage daughters and husband. My husband and I, along with two of our daughters experienced mystical phenomenon that deepened our faith and convinced us that the Blessed Mother was indeed appearing to the visionaries. The recent viewing of "The Sojourners" only reinforced what I already knew. I believe its primary appeal and focus is to young adults and teens who do not already know about Medjugorje. I believe "every teen" was represented in this film and so it is likely to touch many hearts of the viewers. I highly recommend this film.

What struck us about the movie is that it showed many young people are ready and willing to respond to an impetus toward good that is so lacking in most of the world around them. We felt an overwhelming hope in the future after viewing this film. Another comment is that it was honest in showing doubt and resistance and with love and true concern this can be overcome.
